how nice of me

Haha, thirsty river scam. That was tried on me too, met the guy in DoA just weeks after DoA came out. He claims to not know how to get an armbrace, yet shows me 4 tormented items, 200 ectos, 1 mini mallyx. (At the time priced at around 8mil for all) He's in 1.5k glad armor, so I figure wow if some newbie like this can get all this money so can I.
We meet in thirsty river and he starts to explain the steps, disconnecting and reconnecting to duplicate an item (my ele sword, priced at 600k at the time). He says that it can only be done once per account, blah blah. He runs off, proving he won't pick up my item and I start to think this guy is trust-worthy. I drop my ele sword in the rock near the entrance of the begining of the mission as he instructs.
Lucky for me this guy was stupid enough to die before reaching the ghostly hero. When he dies he says "oh we have to restart now." I became suspicious then remember about cutscenes. He PMs me and I say I'd switch over to my assassin because (insert lame excuse here). At the time I owned a non-max ele sword which was on my assassin.
In short, I drop the non-max ele sword as he activates the cutscene. I race him back and grab the sword before he does. Yay dash and shadow steps. I'm sure he felt pretty sad as I was the latest edition to his ignore list.

Haha, someone recently was trading frozen globs of ectoplasm, stating 'They are frozen but you can unfreeze them with an unfreezing kit"

hehe. i had something similar happen to me, but the person just wanted to see the item and the person actually got my item. wasnt worth much tho. but i wanted it back. so complained, bitched, and threatened to report them until they gave it back lol
if i remember correctly, it was just a crappy pair of daggers.
first and only time ive had anyone attempt to scam me. and guess they failed cuz they couldnt stand me complaining

So I was feeling lazy and didn't want my level 10 assassin going for survivor to die, so I was looking for a run through zen daijun. This guy said he was running it for 200g so I said sure, why not. He collects 800g from everyone and goes in. He then starts bragging how he scammed us. I wasn't mad, I found it quite funny how someone with 15k armor was bragging about a scammed 800g.

mine is a two part story,
Part I
first its starts with a kathandrax run, i loaded itnto doomlore and someone was looking for more people for kathandrax so i joined. did great got to then end and opened the chest. i got crap but one of them party memebers got the new skin emerald blade. i pmed telling him i wanted to buy it and he said he'd think about it. i asked him again when we got to town as he told me to do, i was thinking theres no way im going to be able to afford this sword with 50k. he pms me back and says ill sell for 20k. without second thought i said done. we traded i loaded to my guild hall as im asking my guild how much its worth over ts and getting hounded by questions.
Part II
after getting the price i should sell for from a guildie i headed off to kamadan to sell after 2 hours someone pmed me and asked if they could see it so i said yes. they looked at it and said they wanted to see what it looked like on their character, i told them they could buy it and see and if they didn't like it they could return it they said no. so i said ok and started to spam chat again then they pmed back and said how bout i let you hold my fow armor and then i look. i said no, then they offered 2 sets of fow armor, i declined. he preceded to offer 12 sets of fow armor just so they could see what the blade looked like on their character.
*btw i did feel bad for cheating that kid outta a ton of cash but he put up the price*

Something seems a little off about your tale. Could be 12 items in a trade window, or 12 sets of FoW. I can pinpoint which one though...

That isnt a scam you dumbass. There are no set prices that you must sell and buy stuff at you choose what you want to spend or what you want to get. Not to mention pre is a seperate community that doesnt even have a dye trader. Grow up.

My PM to scammer: "I have a black dye."
Scammer: "Ok."
Me: "Scammer!"
Scammer: "Watch your language or I'll report you." (haha I laughed at this, there was no language, and if anyone shopuld get reported, its the scammer, not the person exposing the scammer to the newbs)
Me in Trade chat: *scammer* is a dye scammer!
After that I left Ashford to continue getting more armor. The scammer left Ashford as well.

So i was in HA, and randomly formed up with some alliance members, and just so happened to be bored and short a few for a balanced team.
So... I put up in party search, "GLF r16+ balanced" and amongst some of the pm's i get saying " oh i'm r8 is that good enuf?"(lol im only r3 btw xD), i get a guy saying, "what's the r16 emote?" and runs up next to me begging to see it.
Naturally i declined =P, but this guy was persistant, so i ended up saying "ok Gimme 1k and i'll do it, i didn't grind my way to r16 just to show the emote to just any1 you know".
He then proceeds to beg, but no funds were transferred, nor was an emote given =P.
There's my pathetic scamming attempt
(no noobs were harmed in the process of making this "scam")

"You're sexy. Do you know that? But do you know what? *Insert any color, sometimes even Black* just isn't your color. I've heard that chicks really like *Insert any color that I have to many of*. The saddest part is that I make such an ass out of myself that they usually end up buying the dye, whether they want/need it or not.

How is that a scam?
Its called being a good salesman.

A little while back, when I was in the SNOW alliance, we were talking over AC and one guy said he was going to sell his ectos at 5.5 ea. This is stupid as they have been at 4.5-5 for forever now and we attempt to convince him of the unlikeliness of his plans. However, this is when he pulls his "trump card". He says
"All I have to do is say wts ectos 5.5k FIRM and then anybody who offers me anything lower can be reported for scamming!"
me: "lolwut?"
him: "one day I was bored, so I read the game manual and it says that that anybody who offers otherwise is scamming"
me: "ummm, I have read the manual a bunch of times and nowhere does it say ANYTHING about scamming."
him: "well, I've gotten tons of people banned for it"
everyone in AC: "omg"
Not quite a scamming attempt per say, but is sort of the inverse - stupid perceived scams . Needless to say that it is highly unlikely that anyone got banned by this idiot's actions.
